Our Teachers
My teacher was better than any Spanish teacher I had previously, and I felt I learned a great deal in a week.

Guatemalensis teachers teach to every level and topic. Whether you are just beginning or have studied for years, our teachers can help you attain a higher level of comprehension. At GSS you can study for a few days or a few weeks or months.
Immersion in the Guatemalan culture allows our students to not only learn Spanish but practice it in the real world. Bilingual speakers are becoming more sought after in the global market.
You will also learn more about Latin America’s history and culture helping you be a better travel and global citizen.
Our teachers at Guatemalensis Spanish School offer a more personal experience with the language. Professors will assist you in applying Spanish to your future goals in your life and your area of study.
Xela, Guatemala
The Spanish spoken in Guatemala is easy to understand & that makes it easier for the students who are studying here.

Explore, discover, and experience the present Guatemalan culture and Mayan civilization heritage. Quetzaltenango (also known as Xela) is surrounded by many villages in which you can appreciate and experience the mixing of indigenous mesoamerican culture with colonial Spanish.
Xela’s history can be enjoyed throughout the city. Whether it’s walking past beautiful colonial churches, enjoying a cup of coffee at a cute cafe, or waltzing through the colorful market filled with textiles and fruit, the city always provides something new to see and explore. Quetzaltenango means place of the quetzal bird. Many natural wonders are just short day trips away, including volcanos, natural saunas, bird watching, and breathtaking vistas.
